Vijay loves Malayalam

Illaya thalapathy Vijay is a popular actor in Tamil film industry. He is considered to be the next Superstar of Kollywood, after the current Superstar Rajni Kant. The other notable thing with the Vijay is that he had a great fan base in the neighbouring state Kerala too. Most of his films have done extra ordinary business in Kerala box office also.

His latest film, Vettaikkaran also did descent business in Kerala and last day Vijay was in the capital city of Kerala to promote his film, that celebrated it's 25th day their in a theatre. When asked, Vijay made it clear that he will definitely act in a Malayalam movie, and the only condition is that he needs to be in agreement with the story and the director. He also added that remuneration will not be problem for his debut venture in Mollywood.

The other notable thing that Vijay stated is about the remaking of the upcoming Malayalam film, Bodyguard, which is all set to grace the theatres by the 21st of this month. Bodyguard is directed by hit maker Siddique and it features Dileep and Nayan Thara in the lead. It's hearing that Vijay loved Bodyguard, a romantic comedy with some family sentiments and action, and wants to remake it as his 51st film after he completes Sura.

Anyhow, Vijay is eagerly awaiting the release of bodyguard and it's performance in the Kerala box office, before formally announcing its remake as his next project..

Gautham Menon to do a Vijay film???

The latest hot news to hear from the Tamil film industry is that one of the most talented directors in Kollywood, Gautham Vasudev Menon is going to do a film with none other than our Illaya Thalapathy Vijay. Currently Gautham Menon is busy with his 2 Tamil films and Vijay is busy with his new film, Vettaikkaran.

It should be remembered that the spat between the duo when Gautham had earlier approached Vijay to do film with him is familiar with almost all the Tamil film lovers. Now as per some close sources related to the director, Gautham had made a secret visit to Vijay’s place and discussed a project with him.

It was for the film Kaakha Kaakha that Gautham had approached Vijay for the first time and Vijay was not fully convinced with the script that he gave the DVD's of his some hit films like Thirupachi and asked Gautham to rewrite the script. Gautham was not ready to do that so he went along with the project casting Surya instead of Vijay in it and the film went on to become one of the notable hits in the Tamil film history.

It should be noted that Gautham Menon is popular for his variety of films that he had so far and Vijay is popular for the same type of roles that he had potrayed throughout his career. The thing to be seen is whether Gautham and Vijay may able to work together, only time will give us an answer to this.

Tamanna in Vijay's 50th film

Illayathalapathy Vijay is one of the top actors in Tamil film industry. Though his last three films after Pokkiri were not upto the mark, he still enjoys the supreme power of a Superstar. The actor is currently working on his 49th film, Vettaikkaran. Talks are now already started for the Vijay's perstigious 50th film.

It's almost now confirmed that Vijay's 50th film will be produced by Sangili Murugan, the veteran producer who gave him stardom with Fazil’s Kathalikku Mariyadai. This film will be the second one in between the actor and the producer. This yet to be titled film will get started by the end of this year, once Vijay completes his Vettaikkaran.

Earlier, it was stated that the latest sensation of India, Asin might do the lady lead in this new Vijay film but now it's hearing that the milk white beauty as well as the upcoming sensational heroine of south, Tamanna might do that role. Director for Vijay's prestigious 50th film is not yet confirmed and may finalize it by the end of this month itself.

Tamanna, who played the lady lead with actors like Surya, Karthi and Bharath is now all set to play the heroine of Illayathalapathy Vijay, that too in his prestigious 50th film. Tamanna, who have earlier expressed her desire to work with Vijay has now got a chance to fulfil her wish.

Vijay's prestigious 50th film

Illayathalapathy Vijay is one of the top actors in Tamil film industry. Though his last three films after Pokkiri were not upto the mark, he still enjoys the supreme power of a Superstar. The actor is currently working on his 49th film, Vettaikkaran. Talks are now already started for the Vijay's perstigious 50th film.

This film will be the second one in between the actor and the producer. This yet to be titled film will get started by the end of this year, once Vijay completes his Vettaikkaran.

The most interesting thing is that about 5 directors have been shortlisted for directing Vijay's 50th film. They are ‘Jayam’ Raja who is keen to remake the Telugu Nagarjuna super hero film Azad, then Selva, who is known for making commercially viable thrillers, Perarasu the mass masala king and Malayalam director Siddique who wants to remake his Bodyguard with the star and finally the master director K S Ravikumar himself.

According to the trade analysts, there is also a chance for a new director to enter from the outside of the list and emerge as the winner. Most probably, latest sensation of India, Asin might do the lady lead in this Vijay starrer. It should be noted that Sivakasi and Pokkiri, that both Vijay and Asin have done together were Superhits and the same is expecting from the duo for this time also.

Vijay's son in Vettaikkaran

Illaya Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming project which is titled as Vettaikkaran is making huge waves all around the Tamil Nadu. The film's shooting kick starts one week ago. This new Vijay starrer will be directed by debutant Babu Shivam (former associate of Dharani) and will be produced by AVM Balasubramaniam under the popular banner AVM.

The film was started by shooting a typical mass masala Vijay introduction song that was picturised by the cameraman Gopinath in Rajahmundry. This new song is considered to be a high energy peppy fast number that suits the style and skills of Vijay. This song was penned by Kapilan and was tuned by Vijay Antony of (Nakka Mukka fame). According to the music director this new song will be much more faster than his previous hit Nakka Mukka.

The most notable news in relation to this is that actor Vijay's son Sanjay (age of only 7) is debuting into the Tamil film industry by shaking legs with his dad. This fact will make the song much more awaited one among the Tamil film audience. Sources close to the unit states that Sanjay is as good as his dad when the dancing skills are considered. This interesting song was choreographed by the dance master Shobhi.

Pokkiri to be made in Kannada too

Prince of Telugu film industry, Mahesh Babu is back after a long gap of about two years, since his last film was Athidi in 2007. Mahesh Babu's next movie will be with hit director Trivikram. The film is currently titled as Varudu, but it is heard that the title might be changed in the future. Producer Singanamala Ramesh is making the movie on Kanaka Ratna Movies banner.

Now the striking news about Mahesh Babu is that his one of the biggest career hit film Pokkiri is now going to be remade for the fourth time. Original Pokkiri that featured Mahesh Babu and Illeana was a smashing hit in Tollywood. Then it was later remade to Kollywood with Illaya thalapathy Vijay and Asin donning the lead roles. The result was an even bigger hit that created a path for it's inmates to remake it into Bollywood.

The Bollywood version of the Pokkiri, which is titled as Wanted Dead or Alive will feature Salman Khan and Ayesha Talkia in the lead roles and was directed by Prabhu Deva, the director of Tamil version too. Now the fourth edition of Pokkiri is going to be made in Kannada, with Kannada's rising star Darshan in the lead role. The film is now standing second to Amitabh Bachchan starrer Don, for the most number of remakes. Don was remade 5 times and Pokkiri is currently standing at 4.

With the film Pokkiri, that is creating waves all around the Indian film industry, Tollywood has all the rights to be proud because it all is due to one man - Puri Jaganath. He was the director of the original movie. Let's wish just like in Kollywood and Tollywood, the saga of the film Pokkiri can hold on in Bollywood and Kannada film industry.

Vijay's 50th film with 'Jayam' Raja

Illaya thalapathy Vijay is approaching his prestigious 50th film. Currently Vijay is enjoying the success of his 48th film Villu, which was directed by his mentor Prabhu Deva. Though the film Villu is carrying mixed reviews, the film was able to make it big due to the mass hero image of Vijay. Nayan Thara was the heroine of Villu, which also featured Prakash Raj as a powerful villian. A lot was expected about the film, when the team of Prabhu Deva and Vijay joined together after their first film, Pokkiri which was a blockbuster.

Vijay will start the works of his 49th movie, Vettaikkaran by the middle of next month. Vettaikkaran will be a typical Vijay film, which is to be produced by the famous brand of south, AVM. The film will feature the numero uno heroine of Telugu, Anushka as it's heroine. Now the most surprising news is that Vijay's 50th film will be directed by none other than 'Jayam' Raja. It was really a surprising news about the director for Vijay's 50th film since famous director's like Siddique and Dharani were considered to be the top runners for that spot.

Both Siddique (Friends) and Dharani (Ghilli and Kuruvi) have done movies previousily with Vijay. All those films were superb at the box office too. Now it will be an interesting thing to watch since both the director and actor are famous for their hit films that were remade from other languages, especially from Tollywood. It is to be noted that it's him 'Jayam' Raja who made his younger brother 'Jayam' Ravi, a star in Kollywood with the hits that he produced by remaking successful Telugu films. Vijay too rose to the super stardom through his successful remakes from other languages.

It has to be seen whether the director, 'Jayam' Raja will go for an original subject or for a remake, for Vijay’s Golden Jubilee film. Let's wait for much more news about this new film from the team of 'Jayam' Raja and Illaya thalapathy Vijay.

Villu v/s Padikkathavan

Illaya thalapathy Vijay's Villu as well as Superstar Rajni Kant's son-in-law Dhanush's Padikkathavan have got released for this year's Ponkal season. Both the films are typical mass masala entertainers in order to suit the Tamil audiences and both the films are carrying very average reviews with it. Let's look who will the race?

According to the fans strength as well as huge popularity, Vijay will simply surpass Dhanush in the Tamil film industry. Villu, a racy entertainer made by Prabhu Deva had the beauty queen, Nayan Thara in the female lead whereas in Padikkathavan, it's none other than Tamanna in the female lead. While Dhanush appears to have his priorities right and finds himself hoping for a hat trick of hits ( after Yaradi Nee Mohini and Polladhavan) ,Vijay has to come out of the shell he has got himself into, in order to get back to his winning ways.

Let's look back, Vijay's previous release was the infamous Kuruvi while Dhanush's Yaradi Nee Mohini which released around the same time went on to become a huge blockbuster. Let's rewind a little further when Vijay's Azhagiya Tamil Magan released. That was the period Dhanush's Polladhavan also released. Polladhavan went on to become a blockbuster while Azhagiya Tamil Magan was a damp squib.

Padikkathavan is a film owned by Sun Group and is being promoted nicely by the producers and as a result they were able to create a curiosity in every viewers mind. This curiosity is meant to be a helping factor to the movie, which is carrying only an average review. On the other hand, Vijay's Villu have opened to a record collections but might find it hard to sustain its brilliant opening especially because mixed views have started pouring in about the film.

Both Villu and Padikkathavan are based on the same genre of typical mass entertainers with nothing new in it. Since Vijay is a mighty force to reckon with in Tamil Cinema, his new release Villu might go on for a hundred days but will fail to keep the viewer's happy just like his previous venture Kuruvi. Padikkathavan too is slated for a descent run at the box office. Let's wait and see, out of these two which film is going to win the race in the final lap?

Vijay admires others in Kollywood

Illaya thalapathy of Tamil film industry, Vijay is now a happy man with his latest release Villu doing excellent business all over Tamil Nadu. Though the film is carrying mixed reviews, it does not matter him because he said he is doing these films in order to entertain his fans. Actually Villu is a typical Vijay film with all his usual ingredients. Nayan Thara was the heroine of the movie.

After the release of Villu directed by Prabhu Deva, in a press meet Vijay opened up his mind. He said that he will never ever change his typical mass masala formulas in his upcoming films too. Through the press meet, he also added that he admires Ajith for his self-confidence, Suriya for his dedication and Vikram for his zeal to bring about variety in his roles.

Ajith and Vijay are said to be two poles in Kollywood with a huge fan base following both the stars. Both these actors entered the film industry about the same time and have scaled heights few though was possible. Now both these stars of Tamil film industry are inching towards their 50th film. In spite of being considered tough competitors, both these actors have very great respect for each other.

After Kamal Haasan and Rajni Kant, Kollywood is expecting these two stars to make up to that spot. As of now it is easily possible but recents films that got released in Kollywood proves that some of the other actors in Tamil like Surya, Vikram etc are also good contentors for that top spot. Let's wait and watch, who is going to make upto that top spots....

Vijay's Villu for January 12th

Vijay, Illayathalapathy of Tamil film industry is now all set to rock his fans worldwide with his latest venture Villu. Villu is is in the action adventure genre, a travel movie that moves fast from the city to the village and then goes abroad. Nayan Thara is the lady lead in this movie. Villu is directed by Prabhu Deva for Ayngaran International and will be released on the 12th of January.

For this year's Ponkal, there are lots of films getting ready to be released but the most expected film undoubtedly is Vijay's Villu. There are two major reasons for that, first is, ofcourse the 'mass hero factor' of Vijay and the other one is the reunion of hit duo Prabhu Deva - Vijay after the Megahit film Pokkiri. This is Prabhu Deva's second film in Tamil, as a director and the first film which features Vijay and Nayan Thara as pairs.

The film is said to have nothing new in the storyline, but the difference is in the packaging and presentation of the film. The treatment, the twists and turns in the story, the comedy, the action and the songs are all considered to be huge plus points of this film. Choreography by Ashok Raj is said to be one of the highlights of the movie. Music by Devi Sri Prasad is also doing well. Another major highlight of the movie is said to be the comedy carried out by Vijay, Vadivel and Nayanthara.

All in all, Vijay's Villu is all set to make a grand opening and a marvelous run at the box office for this year's Ponkal season. According to the crew, the film have shaped up well and now it all belongs to the audience.

Vijay's Vettaikkaran

Illaya Thalapathy Vijay's latest film Villu is all set to release during this upcoming Ponkal season. Villu is a racy entertainer filmed by none other than Prabhu Deva, who have earlier created Pokkiri with Vijay. There are high expectations about Vijay's new film Villu since his earlier film with Prabhu Deva, Pokkiri was a huge hit. Beuty Queen Nayan Thara is the heroine of the movie.

Since Villu is totally complete, talks have started about Vijay's new film Vettaikkaran. The major talk about the movie is whether who is going to play the leading lady in it. Vettaikkaran is to be directed by Babu Sivan and produced by AVM Balasubramaniam. As per the current reports, Anushka, one of the popular actresses in Telugu now will do the role of Vijay's heroine in that movie. Anushka has earlier sizzled the screen in Tamil playing Madhavan's ladylove in Rendu.

The news has not yet confirmed since Anushka is a hot property in Telugu film industry with a slew of movies in her kit. Vettaikkaran will be Illaya Thalapathy Vijay's 49th film. Vettaikkaran will start rolling from February, 2009 after Villu hits the screens on Pongal. Keep in touch for the latest updation about this movie.

Asin conquering the nation.....

It is almost clear by now that now onwards Asin, south indian beuty who conquered Bollywood too will be the most costliest actress in the south indian cinema. It is heard that Asin has been roped in to play the lead opposite Vijay for a high sum of 2 crores. Nayantara has earlier been paid a sum of 1 crore, for the Karthik ( Paruthiveeran fame ) starrer, directed by Lingusamy.

The shooting of this new film 'Vettaikaran' will start only by next year because before that Vijay has to complete his latest offering with director Prabhu Deva 'Villu', and also Asin has to complete her latest film in Bollywood 'London Dreams' directed by Vipul Shah. This new film will be produced by Balasubramaniam under the banner AVM.

Speaking to the media, Asin said,” I am all excited about sharing screen space once again with Vijay. The producers phoned me to discuss as I am now in London for the shooting of the Hindi movie ‘London Dreams’. I am planning to mull over the script once I reach Mumbai. As I am already committed in a Hindi project that starts February, I will be acting in this movie if my schedule permits.”

Asin, has earlier shared screen space with Vijay in the blockbuster hits, ‘Sivakasi’ and ‘Pokiri’. The actor expressed his desire to cast Asin once again, that he considers as his lucky mascot. The makers of Vettaikaran managed to make it happen, even though it’s a big contract.

Asin is currently in a cloud nine, by having a lot of offers in her hand to work with famous actors and directors. She is now currently in London with the shooting of 'London Dreams' and she will have a bright future ahead since she is being considered as the lucky mascot by the popular star Vijay as well as by ace actor Kamal Haasan.

Ajith is working with choreographer turned director Raju sundaram( brother of popular actor-choreographer-director Prabhu Deva) for the film 'Aegan' which is a remake of the 2004 hindi blockbuster 'Main Hoon Na' starring Shah Rukh Khan. This film will reach the theatres for this deepavali, where as Illaya Thalapathi Vijay is currently working in the film 'Villu' which is considered to be a remake of another hindi film 'Soldier'. Interestingly, this film starring VIjay is directed by the 'Pokkiri' fame Prabhu Deva himself. So the current films of these younger superstars are by two real brothers.

After completing 'Aegan', Ajith will join hands with the star director Gautham Menon for a film titled as 'Surangani', which will feature Ajith as a deadly gangster. It will be produced by actor 'Prabhu' under the banner of 'Sivaji Productions'. Further details of this film are awaited. Where as Vijay after completing 'Villu', will go on with the project titled as 'Vettaikaran' which is heard to be produced by the AVM itself.

Vijay's 50th film will be produced by his father S A Chandrasekharan himself. Nothing yet is confirmed, whereas Ajith's case is not even heard.

The fact that two popular heroes of Tamil cinema nearing their 50th film is a moment to cherish for their fans.

A proud father...........

Veteran director SA Chandrasekhar is happy with his son and popular actor Vijay who is close on completing a noteworthy number of 50 films in the industry.

Happy at the way his son's career has shaped up in the industry, he is planning to produce Vijay's 50th film. “It will be a milestone for Vijay. Our production house (VV Creations) will be happy to be associated with the film, but nothing has been finalized as of now,” preens the proud dad.

Speaking about Vijay's decision to use his fan clubs as a platform to carry out social activities, he says 'there is nothing wrong in it'.

“They are not fan clubs. Vijay has renamed them as welfare associations. He believes that fan clubs are not just for boosting the popularity of the hero. He wants them to be socially responsible and do their part even if it is tad less for the welfare of the people. I am really proud of him,” he says.

‘Kuruvi’ flies high ...............

Vijay starrer ‘Kuruvi’ has managed a 150-day run across theatres in Tamilnadu. Produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin and directed by Dharani, the movie featuring Vijay, Trisha and Suman in the lead roles, witnessed mixed reviews at the box office.

However, thanks to the racy script and Vijay's popularity among the masses, the movie opened big and gradually settled down to do a decent business at the box office.

The cast and crew thanked the film-buffs for helping the movie complete a 150-day run. According to director Dharani, "I thank the producer Udhayanidhi Stalin, actor Vijay and the rest of my crew for the successes”.

Post ‘Gilli’, Vijay-Dharani-Trisha and music composer Vidyasagar tag teamed for 'Kuruvi'. Fortunately, they succeeded in their attempt.
