'Saagar Alias Jacky' Returns...................

21 years after its release in 1987, Mohanlal has confirmed that he is going to do a sequel to his Irupatham Nootandu.

It is one of his most successful films of all time as an action hero. The sequel taken from his character name from the film Sagar alias Jackie, will be directed by Amal Neerad and produced by Antony Perumbavoor.

The original written by S.N Swamy and directed by K.Madhu was a racy entertainer. It had Mohanlal playing Jackie alias Sagar, a smuggler who partners with the Chief Minister's son Sekharan Kutty played by Suresh Gopi.

Later they fall out and when friends turn enemies it is always bitter. It had a spectacular climax scene where Mohanlal guns down Suresh Gopi who is protected by large number of security men at an airport.

Irupatham Nootandu made at a cost of Rs 16 lakhs went on to make a distributors share of Rs. 1.60 crore those days for its producers Aroma Mani. It also made Mohanlal a superstar.

Now S.N Swamy, has written a new script in which Sagar alias Jackie after shooting dead the Chief Minister's son escapes from India and arrives in Dubai.

He slowly rises up the ladder, to become the don of Dubai. New international problems arise for Jackie, who still controls Kerala politics sitting in Dubai. How he sorts them out is the story in a nutshell.

Mohanlal confirmed that he is starting the film from January 1, 2009. The others in the cast are being worked out. Says Antony Perumbavoor, the producer of the film: " It will be a very stylish movie, with lots of spectacular action scenes. We are planning to shoot the film in Dubai, and I'm sure Amal Neerad will make it racy and entertaining. The film will be Lal sir's Vishu 2009 release."
