30 fabulous years...................

Mohanlal celebrated his thirty years in filmdom, in the sets of his new film 'Red Chillies'. A group of his friends including Ashokumar, who was the director of his first film 'Thiranottam' and Sureshkumar, one of his friends who made the clap for the first shot of lal, attended the function, which was held at the FACT, Eloor.

"I am really excited and happy with this small function at the sets of my new film. And that too, when i am amidst my very old friends who were with me all these years, I am overwhelmed," said the actor.

Mohanlal faced the camera for the first time on the third of September, 1978 for 'Thiranottam', a film which was never screened. Two years after this film came his villain in the mega box office hit 'Manjil Virinja Pookal' and thereafter he managed to be in business for the next five years doing every role that came his way. In 1986 came Rajavainte Makan, which catapulted him to the throne of the super star. With the successive hits in Irupathaam Noottandu and Bhoomiyile Raajakanmmar, there was no looking back for this versatile actor who is the most popular star of Kerala, even after 23 years from these films.

Many from the industry including Shaji Kailas, Jagadheesh, Biju Menon, S N Swamy, ManianPillai Raju, and Rejapurthra Renjith were the other few who were also seen in the function.
