'Kandasamy' to reach by summer 2009

Kanthasamy, is the upcoming movie from Tamil actor Vikram. Vikram is considered as a talented actor in Tamil film industry after the 'Ulaganayakan' Kamal Haasan himself. He has been shooting for this film for last one and a half years. Officially, it is heard now that Kanthasamy will reach the theatres only by the mid summer in 2009. This Superhero movie is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu and directed by Susi Ganesan. Shriya Saran is the heroine of the movie.

Vikram got to fame by his heart breaking performances in films like Sethu, Dil, Dhool, Gemini etc and he got famous nationally or internationally for the performance of him in Anyan. The film Anyan that got released about 4 years back have made him a big star, and that film was directed by Shanker. Unfortunately, both his films (Maja with Asin and Bheema with Trisha) that got released after that failed miserably at the box office.

You all will be still remembering that the film was launched with a lot of fanfare including a trailer more than a year back. At that time, the crew behind the film said the film will release on April 14, 2008, then it became Diwali, still no sign of the film. The shoot of the film has been going on for a year.

Director Susi Ganeshan said in a recent press meet that the delay was due to the time taken for the shoot of the film and now its post production work as a lot of special effects are involved. He followed his statement like this that the post production work is going on in full swing. All that remains is a flashback scene and a song that will be shot in Italy.

Audio launch of the movie was done in last January by the music director of the film, Devi Sri Prasad himself. Kanthasamy is a superman like story with a logical twist. Fantasy and realism are mixed in the story to make it a commercial entertainer. Most probably it will be the next big thing in Kollywood for sure.
