Pazhassi Raja is roaring all over Kerala

Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja is still continuing with its surprise collections, even after a month of its release in Kerala. The movie has already accumulated a ten crores from its 26 day run, which is the highest ever collection for a movie in Malayalam in these number of days. In the capital city itself it has crossed a 75 lakhs in 26 days.

Meanwhile, the Tamil version of the movie will get released by the 20th of this month. The makers are planning to go for a release with 100 prints. With Tamil star Sarath Kumar in the company of Mega star Mammootty, who is a known star in Kollywood, Pazhassi Raja is expected to make decent collections. Gokulam Films will have the Telugu version of the movie released by the mid of December.

New Telugu film Arya 2 stills, pictures, wallpapers

Arya 2, starring Allu Arjun and Kajal Agarwal, is ready. Directed by Sukumar, Arya 2 is a sequel to the hit film Arya, which had starred Allu Arjun and had hit screens four years ago. The other lead pair in Arya 2 is Navdeep and Sraddha Das. Devi Sri Prasad has scored the film's music.

Upcoming Malayalam films with similiar names

Three Malayalam films are in the making which carry almost similar names. Talkies, Valluvanadan Talkies and Menaka Talkies. While the former is the title of the movie to be directed by Shajoon Karyal, featuring Universal star Mohanlal. Valluvanadan Talkies is scripted by N M Navaz and will be directed by Sundar Das. Meanaka Talkies is the title of the second movie directed by actor turned director Mahesh. Rajan Kiriyath is the scriptwriter of this movie which features Jayaram as the hero.

Though the three titles have much in similar, none of the directors are planning for the change of title. Instead they seems to have a thought that the familiarity of names will favour their films at the Box Office. As per the latest films, Jayaram's Menaka Talkies will be the first movie to reach the theatres. Let us and wait and see whether this similarity in names will help any of these movies to emerge a winner at the Box Office.

Mammootty in a demi god image for Drona

Megastar Mammootty is back again with the Stylish film maker of the Malayalam film industry Shaji Kailas for yet another action film. Shaji Kailas is famous for making films which presents it's main protagonist in a super human image. Shaji Kailas has earlier joined hand with the megastar for the hit films like The Truth, The King and Vallyettan.

This new action oriented film, which is titled as Drona will feature Mammootty as a Nostradamus like character Pattazhi Madhavan Namboodiri alias Drona(not an ordinary man but a demi god image) and the script of the movie will be handled by A K Sajan. This new film will have Swetha Vijay and Kanika playing the role of the lead heroines and the shooting for this much hyped film have already been started.

Earlier, both Shaji Kailas and A K Sajan were busy with their first Prithviraj project titled as Raghupathi Raghava Rajaram, but the film got stalled with some financial problems and as a result both decided to go ahead with this Mammootty starrer. They are planning to restart the shoot for that film once they finish this Mammootty starrer.

This new film, Drona featuring Megastar Mammootty in the lead will be produced by Aroma movies and is all set to release in the month of March, 2010.

Priyadarshan with yet another remake

India's one of the most talented director Priyadarshan is now all set to start shooting for his Hindi film with Action King Akshay Kumar in the lead. Priyadarshan, who is considered to be one of India's top class commecial film maker have made lots of commercially hit films in the languages like Hindi, Tamil and in his mother tongue Malayalam.

Priyadarshan, who is well known for his remake films is now also going to remake one of his yesteryear hit in Mollywood, Vellanakalude Naadu into Bollywood. Vellanakalude Naadu, was a simple humourous story that feattured Universal Star Mohanlal and Shobhana in the lead. The script of that movie was handled by none other than Sreenivasan.

This new film, which is titled as Khatta Meetha, will also become a launch pad for South Indian actress Trisha, who was waiting for a long time for a big movie in Bollywood. Priyadarshan has now already started working on this film. Anyways Priyadarshan's new Hindi film De Dana Dhan with Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Katrina Kaif in the lead will grace the theatres by 27th of this November.

Mohanlal to do yet another Hindi film

The very latest news related with our Universal Star Mohanlal is that after two mind blowing performances in Ram Gopal Varma's Company and AAG, he is going to act in yet another Hindi movie. Mohanlal will be seen in the upcoming Hindi movie, Seven to be directed by Bollywood's Path breaking director Vishal Bharadwaj (of Omkara and Kaminey fame).

According to some close sources, Vishal Bhardwaj have met with Mohanlal in Kochi, last week and immediately after hearing the story, Mohanlal have earmarked some of his dates to this promising director. Just like in his previous two Bollywood ventures, he is going to share the screen space with the biggies in Bollywood, this time it's the Style man of Bollywood Hrithik Roshan and the former Miss Universe Priyanka Chopra.

This new topic have now become a sensational talk all along the Bollywood and the film lovers are pretty sure that the director will offer Mohanlal a meaty role that will match the capabilities of him. It's now hearing that in this film, Priyanka Chopra will have 7 husbands, and the most important of them is the character being played by Mohanlal.

Shooting for this highly anticipated film will start by the month of March, 2010.

New Malayalam movie Daddy Cool review

Superstar Mammootty's latest Malayalam movie Daddy Cool got released today. This new film directed by debutant director Aashiq Abu opened in around 80 centers all across the state. This new Mammootty starrer is said to be a hillarious family entertainer, which was produced by Ananya films and distributed by Marikkar films.

As per the initial reports, this new film is carrying an impressive initial reviews, which will surely help the movie to get into the safer side as early as possible. Actually, this new film is just only an average flick with nothing new in it. Frankly speaking, it's very clear that the major letdown is in the part of script, which has a problem that most of it's characters are one dimensional.

In the acting side, Mammootty as usual has made a descent effort to make his character a notable one. The other notable actors in the film were master Dhananjay, Biju Menon and Daniel Balaji. All others have done their respective jobs very nicely except the heroine Richa Pallod. Even though her role in this movie is a short one, she was really amatuerish in her acting.

In the technical side, the debutant director Aashiq Abu has done good work though his script is weak. Sameer Thahir, the young cinematographer has done his work, but don’t expect anything above average. High decibel background music in many places and the title graphics at the start was really a treat to viewers. Songs in this film are also not mind blowing.

All in all, this new Mammootty starrer Daddy Cool is an average flick, that has the potential to make into the hit charts, if it's not challenged with anyother big movies. This film may appeal to you, if you are a follower of cliched family entertainers and according to me this new movie is a watchable one, that too with your kids.

Malayalam versatile actor Murali passed away

One of the most talented actors of Malayalam cinema, Murali (55) passed away at Thiruvananthapuram PRS hospital at around 8.30 pm tonight. He was under treatment for diabetes for a long time. Funeral will take place tomorrow evening at Aruvikkara.

Murali was working as the chairman of Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy. Murali won State award for the Best Actor four times. He was a great actor who won many awards and recognition.

Murali’s farewell will be a shock for Malayalam film lovers, after the demise of Rajan P Dev and Director Lohithadas recently. Murali came to the film industry through G.Aravindan’s Chidambaram. Padmarajan’s Nombarathippoovu made Murali popular.

Murali acted in more than 200 films. Adharam, Chamayam, Lal Salam, Chakoram, Panchagni etc are some of his hit films. He was a drama artist from school days itself. He was survived by his wife Shailaja and daughter Karthika.

Kites to mark Hrithik's 10 years in Bollywood

Handsome hunk of Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan's new film Kites is now complete and is all set to release. This new Hindi film is getting ready to release in two different versions, one the desi version and other the international version. This big budget film was directed by Anurag Basu and produced by none other than Hrithik's dad, Rakesh Roshan himself.

This new film features Kangana Ranault in the desi version and Barbara Mori in the international version as it's heroine. The makers of the film are planning to make the release of the movie a memorable one, just like Hrithik's debut film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, the movie that immediately rocketed him to an exclusive stardom.

Hrithik's dad as well as the producer of Kites, Rakesh Roshan is planning to mark the actor’s ten years in cinema with this new film. It is rumouring that Kites is being delayed to be released on 15th January 2010, since it should to be remembered that Hrithik’s debut movie was released on 14th January 2000.

According to Rakesh Roshan, he will take a decision by September 10 on whether his new film Kites is coming in December this year or next January. If the makers are fixing to release the movie by January only then it will be a different way of celebration to Hrithik's splendid career in Bollywood that spans almost 10 years.
