Mayabazaar : The review

Megastar Mammootty's latest venture, which is referred as the Ramsan offering of the star to his fans 'Mayabazaar' hits the theatres on the day of Ramsan itself. The film was scheduled to release in a record centres of 93 theatres, but due to the recent clash between 'A' class theatre owners and the Producer's Association, the film was managed only to release in about 70 centres.

All that 70 centres are 'B' and 'C' theatres which celebrated the movie with house full shows all through the initial couple of days. Some centers even screened the movie more than ten times in this two days. The movie was not released in around 25 A centers listed in the release day advertisement. ‘A’ centers like Ernakulam refused to screen the movie, following the decisions from the Film Exhibitors association. But the makers of the film were offered with lot's of 'B' class theatres that reduced this problem to a some extend.

A few A centre theatres like Alleppey and Attingal also showed a difference of opinion to their association by screening the movie. Some centers like ‘Kuzhithara’, ‘Kallachy’, ‘Kollamkodu’, ‘Ezhupunna’ and ‘Oyoor’ are for the first time getting a release print and the fans there are all set to celebrate the arrival of a big new movie in their home theatres.

As per the film, the major setback of it is the script of the film written by the veteran script writter T.A.Razzaq. The script of the film lacks something that makes the film interesting. Also the skits that are scripted in this film are more or less a repetion from some other old movies, so they make the film boring. First half of the film is average with some comedy scenes, but the second have is really poor. Also the debutante director Thomas Sebastian is not that much impressive.

Mammotty has once again done a descent job, that is, he has offered his full potential to the character named 'Rameshan' which he had potrayed in this film. Also, another notable thing is that, he has improved very much in his dancing skills and in presenting the comedy dialogues. Other than Mammootty, Rajan.P.Dev also have done a descent job. Both Suraj and Salim kumar have once again did a great job of making the film a little bit of interseting through their comedy scenes. Tamil actress Sheela debuts to malayalam through this movie while Kalabhavan Mani plays the role of baddie in this film.

Music of the film is average. The major highlight of this film will be the two songs in which the megastar shakes his legs along with the heroine. Art work of the film was a good job. Camera work too is appreciable. Remaining part of the film was not that good.

Though the movie has been generating mixed opinion from its first day viewers, it is sure to end up as a profit maker due to this initial hype that it has generated and also due to its mindless festival mood packaging.

According to me, i willnot compell anyone to go and watch this movie, because i felt it is well beyond one's expectation.
