A movie, Pakal Nakshatrangal, which will be an offbeat by it's nature will hit the theatres as a Mohanlal release from this Nov 28th onwards. This film also features Suresh Gopi too in a prominent role. The script of the movie was handled by actor Anoop Menon, and the film was directed by Rajeevnath. Other release from Mohanlal is the much awaited suspense thriller from the veteran Shaji Kailas. The movie is titled as Red Chillies, and was scripted by A.K.Sajan. This movie will grace the theatres as a Christmas release.
Mohanlal is going to act in a new movie titled as Alexander the Great, which will be directed by Murali Nagavally who have directed the star earlier for his first movie Wanted. Mohanlal has allotted only 40 days call sheets to complete his portions in this film, which will be shot at the locations like Dubai and Mumbai from February, 2009.
Before joining this movie, Mohanlal will have to complete a couple of movies that he have already committed. That's why the shooting was postponed to next year's second month. According to the director, this is not a historical film, but a comical racy entertainer in which Mohanlal will play Alexander Varma, son of a Malayalee father and an Anglo Indian mother. The movie evolves around the strong relationship between Alexander and his brother. Interestingly, Mohanlal will not have a heroine in this film.
Script of the film is handled by debutante C. Balu, and this film will be produced by V.B.K. Menon under the banner of Anugraha Cine arts. Apart from Superstar Mohanlal, this film also features Siddique, Jagathy Sreekumar and Innocent in some key roles. The film will feature songs penned by Gireesh Puthencherry and set to tune by Ilayaraja.
I am wishing all the best for the director and his crew for this high budget movie. Let it be a trend setter in the history of Malayalam film industry.
