Rajinikanth-starrer "Murattukaalai" produced by AVM several years ago will be remade in Tamil with the same title.
The producer of this remake is Gunanidhi, son of Sornam, the nephew of DMK president and Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. Gunanidhi holds a top post in Kalaignar TV.
Mr. Karunanidhi's grandsons, Udhayanidhi and Arivunidhi, are already in the film field and Gunanidhi is yet another kin of Kalaignar to enter the industry as a producer.
According to reports, Gunanidhi has obtained the remake rights for the blockbuster "Murattukaalai" from AVM Balasubramaniam.
Gunanidhi confirms that Balasubramaniam has decided to give the remake rights to him along with the title. (Remake rights for Rajini and Kamal films are sold for Rs 25 lakh to 30 lakh, according to industry sources.)
Sundar C may play the role which Rajinikanth donned in "Murattukaalai" and talks are under way with the director-turned actor who has emerged as an action hero.
