National award winner Priyamani bagged the best actress award and Thirakkatha bagged the award for the best film. Renjith was named as the best director and special jury awards are announced for Superstar Mammootty, Sreenivasan and Sukumari. Most popular film of the year was AMMA's multistarrer Twenty 20 and last year's 'Path Breaking Movie of the Year' award goes to the Tamil film Subramaniapuram.
Other award winners: Jayaram (Popular actor), Gopika (Popular actress), Vineeth Sreenivasan (Best debutant actor), Meera Nandan (Best debutant actress), Jayasurya (Best character actor), Roma (Best character actress), Baby Nayantara (Best child artist), Siddhique (Best villain), Babu Janardanan (Best script writer), Deb Jyothi Misra (Best music director), Rafeeq Ahmed (Lyrist), Vijay Yesudas (Male singer), Chitra (Female singer), Santhosh Thundiyil (Camera), Don Max (Editor), Gokul Das (Cinematography) and Srijith Guruvayur (Make-up).
Presented jointly by Mathrubhumi Daily and Amrita TV, two major players in the print and electronic media in Kerala, Idea-Mathrubhumi-Amrita Film Award night will also feature performances by artistes and troupes from Bollywood, Kollywood and Mollywood.
