SRK's latest film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi had now broken some vital records that were unbeaten for a long period of time. The film with it's excellent five week run have collected around Rs. 180 crores worldwide. The total net collections of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi for the first five weeks in India are Rs. 83 crores (gross collections is being Rs. 140 crores).
The film was released at a time where everyone was shocked with the Mumbai terror attack that got happened on 26th November 2008. So due to this shocking attack, the makers of the film including SRK was not able to promote their new film quite properly. This have affected the initial collections of the movie, otherwise it would have been bigger again. With the help of good mouth publicity, the film was picked up later in the following weeks and is still going strong.
Meanwhile, the film have broken all previous box office records for Yash Raj Films, as well as become the highest grossing Shah rukh Khan film till date. The film has thus surpassed Yash Raj Films previous highest grosser, Dhoom 2, which collected Rs. 80.6 crores net across its entire run in India and is considered as one of the highest grossing films of all time. The film has also comfortably surpassed the collections of two of the biggest hits of the last 2 years, Singh is Kinng and Om Shanti Om, and is now second only to Ghajini as regards all time India net collections.
Well done Shah Rukh, you have once again proven your critics wrong by doing a memorable performance at the box office with this beautiful family entertainer.
