Malayalam versatile actor Murali passed away

One of the most talented actors of Malayalam cinema, Murali (55) passed away at Thiruvananthapuram PRS hospital at around 8.30 pm tonight. He was under treatment for diabetes for a long time. Funeral will take place tomorrow evening at Aruvikkara.

Murali was working as the chairman of Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy. Murali won State award for the Best Actor four times. He was a great actor who won many awards and recognition.

Murali’s farewell will be a shock for Malayalam film lovers, after the demise of Rajan P Dev and Director Lohithadas recently. Murali came to the film industry through G.Aravindan’s Chidambaram. Padmarajan’s Nombarathippoovu made Murali popular.

Murali acted in more than 200 films. Adharam, Chamayam, Lal Salam, Chakoram, Panchagni etc are some of his hit films. He was a drama artist from school days itself. He was survived by his wife Shailaja and daughter Karthika.
