Mohanlal soon to become Lt Colonal

Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal is now all set to become Lieutenant Colonal within a short time. The actor who excelled in war films like Keerthichakra and Kurukshetra, had expressed a desire to join the Territorial Army (TA), a voluntary part-time civilian force and was conferred the title of Lieutenant Colonal in the Territorial Army, last year.

Mohanlal had earlier stated that he had a fascination for the armed forces and wanted to join the army after college, but became a star. Mohanlal will now start his mandatory training to be in Territorial Army by undergoing a training at the TA’s 122 Infantry Battalion of Madras Regiment in Kannur within a couple of weeks.

Mohanlal met with the Commanding officer of the Kannur Regiment and recieved the equipments necessary for the training. After the training, Mohanlal will have to go to New Delhi where the Chief of Army Staff will commission the star into Indian Army.
