Mohanlal is best again

Mohanlal, one of the accomplished actors which India have ever produced is now going to be presented with yet another award in the best actor catagory. The actor who have acquired almost all the top class awards in India will now be presented with the prestigious 11th Annual Asianet - Ujala Film Awards 2009. The award was announced by Asianet Communication Limited vice chairman and managing director K. Madhavan on Saturday in Thrivnandrum.

Superstar Mohanlal bagged this award for his mind blowing performance in the film Maadambi, in which he potrays the character of a hearty financier. The film was Super hit at the Box office too. South Indian actress Gopika, who backed away from the film industry after her marriage have bagged the best actress award for her awesome performance in Veruthe Oru Bharya, as a helpless house wife. Twenty 20 was elected as the best film and Akku Akbar was elected as best director for Veruthe Oru Bharya.

Actor Jayaram, who have made a strong come back into the malayalam film industry after a span of about 5 years was elected as the most popular actor. Living legend among singers K J Yesudas have won the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his overall contribution to the Malayalam film industry. Jagathy Sreekumar won the special jury award for his various roles and the award for best patriotic film goes to Kurukshetra, directed by Major Ravi.

Others to bag this prestigious awards are Innocent ( Supporting male), Samvritha Sunil ( Supporting female), Siddique ( Villian), Salim Kumar ( Comedian), Gireesh Puthencherry (lyricist), Vidyasaagar (Composer), M.G. Sreekumar and Shweta Mohan ( Play back singers), Baby Nivedita ( Child artist), M J Radhakrishnan ( Cameraman), Renjan Abraham ( Editor), Jayasurya and Roma ( Best pair) and Vineeth Sreenivasan and Meera Nandan ( Fresh faces).
