Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal, is honoured with yet another award for best actor. This time the award was presented by none other than the organisation of artists AMMA itself. The function was conducted at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates. The citation was presented to Mohanlal by the legendary poet O N V Kurup.Others who got this prestigious award are Meera Jasmine for best actress from Gopa Kumar of Al Rwabi. For his comprehensive contribution to Malayalam cinema, Thilakan received an award from Moosa Haji. Mukesh was elected as best male supporting star and Samvritha Sunil as best female supporting star. Salim Kumar was elected for best comedian and M Jayachandran for best music director. Best playback singers are Vineeth Sreenivasan and Swetha.
Sreenivasan, Innocent, Bhama, Sreedevika, Parunthu Jayan, Major Ravi, M. Mohanan, M.J. Radhakrishnan, E.M. Ashraf, Santhosh Damodar and Sai Babu also recieved various awards in the function.
The function was followed by a musical fiesta, which was presented by singers Rimi Tomy, Manjari, Sweta, Anwar, Raji Damodar and Kollam Shafi.
