The most interesting news to hear from the Telugu film industry is that the Milk white beauty actress Tamanna is going to act with the Stylish star of Tollywood, Allu Arjun. She is considered to be the top actress in Tamil, but she wasn't able to achieve the same in Telugu and now a chance has come her way to gain stardom in Tollywood too.

Tamanna will do the new Telugu film, Badrinadh with Allu Arjun, which is to be directed by V V Vinayak. There were reports that Hansika was the first choice for this film but she reportedly quoted high price as remuneration, so the producer's (Geetha Arts) backed out of taking her in. When approached Tamanna immediately gave her dates since she thought that this film will pave her way to stardom in Tollywood.

Meanwhile Allu Arjun's new film Varudu is now all set to release, since the film is almost complete. He will start the shooting for this film by the month of March 2010.

It was earlier reported that Megastar Mammootty will act in the new movie by Akku Akbar, which will be scripted by Reji Nair. That film was titled as Thappana and was one of the well expected film by the Malayalam film lovers. Unfortunately that film won't work since the director was not happy with the script.

The latest to hear is that the same script by Reji Nair will be directed by the family director, V M Vinu with Mammootty in the main lead. This new film is titled as Ganapathi, and Mammootty will be playing the role of a mahout in this new film. Mammootty is well impressed with the script that he showed interest in starting the film as early as possible.

Three Malayalam films are in the making which carry almost similar names. Talkies, Valluvanadan Talkies and Menaka Talkies. While the former is the title of the movie to be directed by Shajoon Karyal, featuring Universal star Mohanlal. Valluvanadan Talkies is scripted by N M Navaz and will be directed by Sundar Das. Meanaka Talkies is the title of the second movie directed by actor turned director Mahesh. Rajan Kiriyath is the scriptwriter of this movie which features Jayaram as the hero.

Though the three titles have much in similar, none of the directors are planning for the change of title. Instead they seems to have a thought that the familiarity of names will favour their films at the Box Office. Megastar Mammootty is back again with the Stylish film maker of the Malayalam film industry Shaji Kailas for yet another action film. Superstar Mammootty's latest Malayalam movie Daddy Cool got released today. This new film directed by debutant director Aashiq Abu opened in around 80 centers all across the state. This new Mammootty starrer is said to be a hillarious family entertainer, which was produced by Ananya films and distributed by Marikkar films.

As per the initial reports, this new film is carrying an impressive initial reviews, which will surely help the movie to get into the safer side as early as possible. Actually, this new film is just only an average flick with nothing new in it. Frankly speaking, it's very clear that the major letdown is in the part of script, which has a problem that most of it's characters are one dimensional.

In the acting side, Mammootty as usual has made a descent effort to make his character a notable one. The other notable actors in the film were master Dhananjay, Biju Menon and Daniel Balaji. All others have done their respective jobs very nicely except the heroine Richa Pallod. Even though her role in this movie is a short one, she was really amatuerish in her acting.

In the technical side, the debutant director Aashiq Abu has done good work though his script is weak. Sameer Thahir, the young cinematographer has done his work, but don’t expect anything above average. High decibel background music in many places and the title graphics at the start was really a treat to viewers. Songs in this film are also not mind blowing.

All in all, this new Mammootty starrer Daddy Cool is an average flick, that has the potential to make into the hit charts, if it's not challenged with anyother big movies. This film may appeal to you, if you are a follower of cliched family entertainers and according to me this new movie is a watchable one, that too with your kids.

Malayalam versatile actor Murali passed away

One of the most talented actors of Malayalam cinema, Murali (55) passed away at Thiruvananthapuram PRS hospital at around 8.30 pm tonight. He was under treatment for diabetes for a long time. Funeral will take place tomorrow evening at Aruvikkara.

Murali was working as the chairman of Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy. Murali won State award for the Best Actor four times. He was a great actor who won many awards and recognition.

Murali’s farewell will be a shock for Malayalam film lovers, after the demise of Rajan P Dev and Director Lohithadas recently. Murali came to the film industry through G.Aravindan’s Chidambaram. Padmarajan’s Nombarathippoovu made Murali popular.

Murali acted in more than 200 films. Adharam, Chamayam, Lal Salam, Chakoram, Panchagni etc are some of his hit films. He was a drama artist from school days itself. He was survived by his wife Shailaja and daughter Karthika.

An interesting news to hear from the Malayalam film industry is that the smallest actor of Malayalam cinema, Guinness Pakru will don the role of father to Jayaram's character in their new film. This never before father-son combination will happen in the movie My Big Father to be directed by Mahesh P Sreenivasan.

This new Malayalam film was scripted by Satheesh K Sivan and Suresh Menon and will be produced by Time Ads. This new film will feature Pakru as a specialist in biriyani making named Kunjumon. Jayaram is Albie, his son with whom Kunjumon runs a catering service. Except Pakru and Jayaram, others in the cast are yet to be finalized.

This new film is scheduled to start its shoot by the first week of August at Ernakulam and the movie will get completed after shooting at locations in Goa and Pondicherry. This is director Mahesh's second film, the first being Jayasurya starrer Changathypoocha, wihch was an average fare at the Box Office.

It's now hearing that Superstar Mammootty and Popular hero Dileep are going to act together for a new Malayalam movie to be directed by the hit maker Anwar Rasheed. Both these actors are joining together after a gap of about 8 years now. They were last seen in the movie Rakshasa Rajavu, which was an Onam release of 2001 and unfortunately the film was a total wash out at the box office.

This new untitled film from Anwar Rasheed will feature both the actors as brothers. Dileep will play the younger brother to Mammootty in this movie, whose scripts are nearing completion. After the Superhit Annan Thampi with Mammootty, director Anwar Rasheed was all set to do a Mohanlal starrer with a script from Sachi-Sethu (Chocolate fame). Since the script writers Sachi-Sethu are busy with their new film Robinhood with Prithviraj, Anwar went ahead with this new Mammootty and Dileep starrer.

This new film will be director Anwar Rasheed's 4th film in all and third one with Superstar Mammootty. His previous two Mammootty starrer's Rajamanikyam and Annan Thampi, were Superhits at the box office and the same result is being expected from this new untitled film from the duo.

According to Prithviraj, "It has been my dream to act with Lalettan. But just for the sake of that wish, if I make way for a bad movie, then would it not be selfishness on my part. Won't it be cheating the media which has been life bread for so long? That's the sole reason why I did not commit to these movies". He also added that movies which were planned with him and Mohanlal together were either weak in the story side or in certain cases his character was poorly etched.

Prithviraj concluded his statement like this that if he come across a good story and a role which would help to develop the actor in him, then he would certainly do the movie since it has been his long standing aspiration to act with our Superstar Mohanlal. Whatever may be the reason, it sounds really interesting when it was first heard from the young actor himself.

As per the latest reports Mammootty, one among the two Superstars of Malayalam film industry will now act in the fourth directorial venture of script writer turned director B Unnikrishnan. This is for the first time that B Unnikrishnan and Mammootty are joining together for a movie, and this new project featuring both of them has been titled as Pramaani.

This new film will feature Mammootty as a corrupt Panchayath president Raghavapanikkar, who is a great arrogant by his nature. The film to be completed in a single schedule also features Suraaj Venjaaramodu, Jagathy, Nedumudi and Salimkumar. This new film, which is all set to start it's shooting by the end of this year is expected to reach the theatres by March, 2010.

B Unnikrishnan is conidered to be a safe director since all his previous 3 films did safe business at the box office. His first and third films, Smart City and IG with Suresh Gopi did average business whereas his second film with Superstar Mohanlal, Maadambi was a Superhit. One among the notable stars in Malayalam film industry, Dileep is currently busy with a hand full of new projects. Dileep is currently enjoying the success of his last film Passenger, that featured him as an advocate. Though he was not able to produce any solo Superhits for last couple of years, still he enjoys a safe spot in the field.

Right now, Dileep is shooting for the film Swantham Lekhakan (Swa Le) which will feature him as a journalist after the film Culcatta News. This film, which is the directorial debut for the ace cameraman P Sukumar will bring Gopika back into acting. The shooting for this film will get completed in a month.

After finishing this film, Dileep will go ahead to complete his long pending Body Gaurd. This film directed by hitmaker Siddique will feature South Indian super actress Nayan Thara as the heroine. Vishal replaces Surya in Mugamudi

Most handsome hero in Tamil film industry, Surya is a busy actor now a days. He is currently doing Aadhavan with K S Ravikumar. Due to his busy schedules, Surya has to quit from so many projects that comes his way. Surya was supposed to do a film named as Mugamudi with Mysskin, the director of Chithiram Pesuthadi and Anjathey.

Surya, who earlier agreed to do the film with Mysskin have now backed out from the project due to the unavailability of dates. As per the close sources, Mysskin is now planning to cast Vishal instead of Surya for his upcoming film Mugamudi. Talks are going on with the director and the actor regarding this project and nothing yet is officially confirmed.

After Thoranai, Vishal was all set to start his first romantic flick, Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai with Shriya and Neetu Chandra, but later dropped it. This new film from Mysskin is a superhero subject and it may be recalled that Vishal had already planned on a superhero subject which he was to direct himself. Let's wait and see, whether Vishal will accept this film as his next choice.

Gautham Menon, one among the notable directors in South Indian Cinema is currently busy with his two Tamil films, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa with Simbu and Trisha in the lead and Chennaiyil Oru Mazhakalam with Trisha and few freshers in the lead. Later by this year, he is also supposed to do a Telugu project with the Prince of Tollywood, Mahesh Babu in the lead.

Now it's hearing that Gautham Menon is planning for a sequel to his one of the greatest hit ever, Vettaiyadu Vilayadu. It was a spellbinding murder mystery that featured Ulaka nayakan Kamal Hassan and Jyothika in the lead. Vettaiyadu Vilayadu was a superb movie in all manners, and the credits for this must go on to one man, Gautham Menon, director of the film.

As per the reports, Gautham Menon is currently working on the script part, which is expected to be much more stylish and striking than the original. As of now, it's hearing that Jyothika won't be in the sequel and the presence of Kamal Hassan too is under doubt since he is busy with his other commitments. Whatever happens, let's hope the sequel too is as good as the prequel..

Surya to star in a trilingual movie by Murugadoss

One of the sought out directors in the whole Indian film industry, A R Murugadoss (Ghajani fame) has been in the news of making his new film with many of the top league actors in India. Now it's hearing that the director is all set to start his new project, a trilingual, to be made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

This news about Murugadoss's new film is somewhat confirmed by the director himself. According to him, his mentor Surya will play the lead in all the three versions. This untitled film from Murugadoss will be produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin under his Red Giant Movies and the film will get started from February next year.

Though the script is still in it's final touch up, it's heard that the upcoming untitled film is a complete action flick. Harris Jayaraj is fixed as the music composer for this film. Surya will join this project after completing his current flick Aadhavan, and his 25th film Singam. Surya is thrilled with this trilingual movie, since he is all set to debut in Bollywood with RGV.
